Benefits and Harms of Sunglasses

If you analyze the phrase “sunglasses” then we get the phrase “glasses that protect from the sun.” But are sunglasses really that harmless?
In fact, they have both benefits and harms, which we will now analyze.

Benefits of sunglasses:

Sunglasses really do protect our eyes from harmful ultraviolet rays. They should definitely be worn on the beach and just outside on a particularly bright sunny day.
Sunglasses are simply necessary for drivers, as blinding sunlight that hits the eyes can cause an accident on the road.
Skiers and climbers also cannot do without sunglasses, as sunlight reflects off the snow on the ski slope and this can blind them.
An obvious advantage of sunglasses is that they can be worn by those who spend a lot of time at the computer – correctly selected lenses will help fair-haired and light-eyed people, as well as those who have cellular diseases.
It is useful for women to wear them so that premature wrinkles around the eyes do not appear.

Despite all the advantages of sunglasses, ophthalmologists do not recommend wearing them all day long.

Harm from sunglasses:

Constant daily wearing of sunglasses can lead to an unexpected disease – photophobia (i.e. fear of sunlight), this means that a person has already become so accustomed to glasses that any light, even not bright, already causes eye irritation, tears and a desire to squint.

Another disadvantage of sunglasses is that they cannot be worn in the evening, as this can lead to a rather serious eye disease called cataracts. This happens because in low light a person sees very poorly in dark glasses, he is forced to constantly strain his eyes, the pupils are correspondingly dilated and therefore the intraocular pressure increases.

In conclusion, I would like to say that ultraviolet radiation is even useful in a certain limited amount: it has a beneficial effect on our immune system, saturates the body with solar vitamin D, promotes vasodilation, strengthens muscles, etc.
Sunglasses are, of course, necessary, but still take certain precautions so that sunglasses are truly protective!
